The oil will short them out.  You will need to soak them for a time in
alcohol before coating them.  I coated everything with krylon, including the
open air caps (stator blades).

Dendrite is very hard to see.  It can be found in the switches also.

Don't over-oil the scanner when you are done.  The felt pad should be
saturated with oil but not swimming in it.  Be careful with the wick and
shaft -easily bent or broken.
