[HAM] SHOCKer n Buzz: near mint leslie 122 question (and safety)figjams at comcast.net figjams at comcast.netThu Aug 3 12:21:52 CDT 2006
hi, I'm no tech, but our 122 acted similar to the way you described. My tech took out the amp and found some defective/worn out capacitors or resistor(i'm no tech, remember) works great now after he replaced these. Pretty simple if you know what to look for and how to test. FWIW figjams > Hey, mind a question? > > I just lucked upon a mint 122 (cab is impeccable - speakers exclnt, etc.) > My concern is the amp in it. > > Recently I fired up my C-3 and this leslie...and this go round, I was > hearing a buzzing coming FROM THE AMP (no playing of the organ). Not a buzz > eminating from the speakers - this is verified, but a sort of "mechanical" > buzz coming from only the amp when powered on. > >
