The fact that the phono input works fine is a hint that the problem is not in the later stages of the AO-28 preamp. Everything before that point in the signal path is suspect. There could be problems in the preamp itself that could be hard to find unless you are a competent Hammond tech. There are two inputs to the preamp for the organ, one for vibrato signal and one for non-vibrato, so it seems somewhat unlikely that both of those connections would be bad at the same time. Does the organ play with the vibrato turned on? Off? The connections on the preamp inputs are labeled 'A' and 'B' (yellow and green wires). Another possibility, which I doubt, is a bad matching transformer or a bad connection inside of it. (I have had the second problem which resulted in no sound). This is the round can on the upper right. The over removes with two screws. Sometimes the tone pot on the back of the preamp (slotted screw) will have gotten dusty inside and cause total signal failure. Wiggle that back and forth and see if she comes to life. That's all I got. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.1.394 / Virus Database: 268.10.7/409 - Release Date: 8/4/2006
