[HAM] Chopped Leslie and the xk-3

Well, my XK-3 arrived and I played 2 gigs with it this weekend, running in
through my UNCHOPPED 145 (For all of those concerned, I decided against
chopping my Leslie)

My first thought on the XK-3 is that is certainly is brighter sounding than
my 40 year old C-3. I know that there is EQ available, but I was wondering
if the "stock" brightness is close to what a new organ sounded like back in
the day. I've never recapped the C-3, and I know that when folks do recap,
they sometimes talk about the organs being to bright. I'll have to try and
tweak the XK-3 to recreate that old muddy sound. The brightness seemed to
step on the guitar parts more than my old organ.

My other though is that the EXP-100F pedal isn't stable enough...it kept
sliding around and occasionally, I'd kick it over while switching the
Leslie. Anyone else have this problem? I'm going to try and fasten it to a
board or something...

No matter what, it's not a tonewheel, and I guess I shouldn't expect to
replace a real console. But I did carry it in with one hand, which sure was
nice!

Steve
