[HAM] How do I get overdrive on an L-100 spinet?

As far as getting growling distorted sound from a Leslie, it's been a 
lot of years, but...

I used to add a fairly large bypass cap to the preamp tube's cathode 
resistor.

I don't remember the value of the cap or its working voltage.

Perhaps M. Fulk or someone like him, with more current working knowledge 
could comment on this.

(These days I'm more into silk than growl -- this is what happens when 
you get old!)
