If you have the organ sitting on a thickish pile carpet, that will screw
up the latching mechanism.   If you've got carpet, try setting the organ
on a hard floor --- or use some blocks to jack the organ up an inch or
so.

If you don't have carpet, then ... well ... never mind.  (Look for other
problems in the latching mechanism, as ElSeveno suggests.)
