This organ is sitting on a plush (but well worn) carpet.  I will get some pads for furniture feet today and try that.  If that doesn't not work I will secure the generator and lay her down to look at the switching mechanics.

If you have the organ sitting on a thickish pile carpet, that will screw
up the latching mechanism.   If you've got carpet, try setting the organ
on a hard floor --- or use some blocks to jack the organ up an inch or
so.
