[HAM] Recapping Hammond tone generators.Michael Fulk strangewarrior1 at earthlink.netSun Aug 20 20:07:15 CDT 2006
With respect, the below is incorrect. For my opinions on this matter read archive of this list and Hamtech. I have been writing what I know for ten years, and I am sick of it. I understand that Sal Azzarelli, a Hamtekker, talked to Alan Young before he died and has the complete process down even into production detail............a good resource. (Hence, the term "generator matching cap set"). My whole post was also in reference to the Hammond generators with wax-paper caps. Red mylar capacitor organ generators don't need to be recapped, or at least I never had to do one yet. I didn't want to cause confusion or add to the arguments that always occur when the recap subject comes up. For what it's worth-----I use orange drops and like them a lot. They do the job well, and have good solid leads that won't break. Thanks for letting me put my two cents in.------------John > > www.HammondStore.com > -- > Subscription Options/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.zeni.net/hf/ > Hammond-Leslie FAQ: http://theatreorgans.com/hammond/faq/ > HammondWiki: http://www.dairiki.org/HammondWiki/ > hammond at zk3.dec.com archives: http://zk3.hammondforum.com/
