Likewise, I´m with that school also! I´ve had a pleasure to gig this summer with a beautiful, strong, hot-sounding -69 B3, which cuts thru anything, but also whispers beautifully when needed.

In a gig situation, even the most dedicated jazz player, or a"wax-cap TG lover" probably respects  more how the message is getting to the audience, than some subtle nuances.
