[HAM] Jimi Hendrix & Curtis KnightKip Amore kipswork at aol.comFri Aug 25 19:12:59 CDT 2006
As a Hendrix nut I can tell you that those tunes have been floating around for years. To my undestanding, nobody really knows for sure who is on the recordings, other than Hendrix which is obvious. Hendrix would jam with a lot of different people pretty much constantly. Could be some of the Chambers Brothers band, could be Curtis Knight, could be Steve Windwood for all we know (but it aint). I have those tunes in the 80s on cassette, and I've stumbled across them again on Limewire lately. If you want a kick, look for the bootleg of Hendrix playing a slow blues with Jim Morrison screaming profanities into the mic, until (you can hear it) he starts swinging the mic and whaps himself in the head. The song is called Peoples Peoples Peoples.
