[HAM] **SPAM(5.4)** Electrolytics in power supply (H-112)

Is it ok to replace the can electrolytics in the power supply with wire ended tubular units of the same capacity and voltage rating? The existing components are 35 years old and I get the message that I should replace the lot.
I have a high level of hum plus other problems, but feel I should start with the power supply.
