[HAM] Anybody need a console pallet?Bohachewsky, Andrew V. abohachewsky at draper.comTue Jul 25 08:33:59 CDT 2006
It's at home so I can't measure it exactly, but with the organ, bench (in front of organ) and pedals (strapped in back of organ) all on the pallet and covered with heavy duty cardboard there was about a foot left over on each side. This is not a standard pallet, much heavier and has chocks for the organ footprint. The organ was bought from a piano/organ dealer, the packing material and the pallet presumably were from a Steinway spinet. Is it international standard or is it made especially for Hammonds? I once got a B2 shipped on a "standard pallet". The organ was standing upright only "fixed" in four holes in a styrofoam "floor". All shrink foil wrapped and strapped down to the pallet with this black plastic straps. Anyway, it arrived unharmed after 8 weeks of sea travel. -- Chris Christoph P. U.
