Greg had a Beer chop for a long time.  It was pretty shot and we 
rebuilt it about 10yrs ago.  He recorede with Neal Schon with it.

  If Bob says he had a chop, then he had a chop. I seem to remember seeing Neil and Greg on TV one time as a duo and there was midi tracks playing with them two just played along with them. About 15 minutes of some instrumental stuff. Interesting, and totally unlike any Santana stuff. Don't remember what time period that was, but I seem to think it was in between Satana and Journey somwhere, or very early journey. Can't remember if there was a chop on that show but I seem to think it was a B. I personally never saw him play a chop on stage, with Santana anyway. Not sure about the studio stuff. Never seemed to be common knowlege for some reason, that he needed or liked any particular chop at all. Maybe back then pros kinda kept that quite or something???   -John
