My complaint wasn't about that upper treble range, but
a
harshness due to too much upper mid-range.
Hi,
Yes, indeed all the crap that is address after recapping will make the upper mid range stand out as it should. You can finally hear those frequencies clearly with most of the crap out of the signal that was dulling it. That to me is where most of the advantage-disadvantage of a recap job shows up. The tone control will also take care of some of that. First thing I do after recapping is turn the tone control down from it's usually high maxed position. That seems to take care of some of those "upper mid-range" notes that are now sounding properly. This is a great setting when I am just playing myself with the Hammond and Leslie. When it comes time to rock and the boys start setting the Mesa's on 13, the tone control gets cranked, the Leslie gets cranked and then my Hammond and Leslie sits in the mix just great. Still prettty clean sounding, not buried on stage and distortion still available if I want it.
  John
