  Well, take a close look. The carriage bolts on mine look like screw heads, but there 
  are no slots in them. Don't throw out those instructions for removing the keys,
  cheek blocks, preset panel and matching transformer yet!
   
  From what I've read from others who are far more knowledgable than I am about
  this, as production of the 2 series was ending in 1954, Hammond apparently began
  subbing some 3 series parts.  Maybe they just ran out of some components, like ratchet
  drawbars.  So, I guess it's possible that your late C2 has a 3 series front strip.
