[HAM] Q: Bit more "hump" - story of two a100's and one 122joe doria joedoria at hotmail.comSun Nov 26 14:21:44 CST 2006
Ok, thanks for the responses. So, it is possible to get a different sound (better bass response) by connecting via the ao-39....there actually IS a difference. It's not just me "thinking" there's a difference. So I have 3 a-100's, 1 connected via a kit off the ao-29, one connected via the 5-pin of the ao-39, and one with a 6-pin socket swapped in at the ao-39. To me it seems I'm hearing better/different (in a good way) bass from the ones connected via the ao-39 when comparing to my C-3 or other a100 (kit off the ao-29. >From: "Kon Zissis" <kziss at ozemail.com.au> >Reply-To: The Hammond Forum <hammond at zeni.net> >To: "Hammond at zeni. net" <hammond at zeni.net> >Subject: [HAM] Q: Bit more "hump" - story of two a100's and one 122 >Date: Sun, 26 Nov 2006 09:16:08 +1100 > >Joe Doria wrote : >What are the reasons (if even valid) for the leslie connected to the >a-100 - >where the 6-pin is coming off the ao-39 to appar to sound like it has >more >"hump" (bass hump, tad more power it seems, etc) over the the other >a100. > >Is there a valid reason? >Is it impossible that there even could be a difference? > >Hi Joe. >At the balanced input of the AO39 power amplifier in the A100 organs >there is a bass boost / high cut circuit created by a 47 K resistor in >series followed by a 33 K resistor to ground in parallel with a 10 K >resistor in series with a 0.1 mfd capacitor to ground.
