[HAM] Distortion through PAJerry Fowler jerryinkc at gmail.comMon Oct 2 07:52:08 CDT 2006
You should probably check your gain structure first to make sure its all set correctly. Plug some headphones into your 4ch board and see if the distortion exists. If not, the PA console probably needs gain/trim adjustment. If the distortion exists in the headphone output of the 4ch, you may be able to gain/trim the input channels on it. If none of this works, a simple inline attentuator may be the best answer. In sum, work backward down the signal chain until you find where the distortion begins. Attentuate or gain/trim the signal at that point, and you should be OK. I've run a C-2 into a DI box with good results in the past. -Jerry Fowler
