[HAM] CT's instrument setup

There are any number of modifications that can be made to the pre-amp circuit of a B3.  You can change tube bias, you can increase the AC gain of the tubes, you can add additional circuitry (tube or solid state) which causes distortion; all of which could be made controllable.

(Although not a distortion circuit, I've been thinking about a series, class A, regulated 350VDC power supply...but where would I put the heat sink?)
