[HAM] L-100 distortion

Could be a number of things, but it could be the expression pedal, 
whether it is a pot type, or a photo cell. On the first one it is dirt 
in the pot....replace it. If a photo cell, clean it up, try and blow out 
the dust if possible, wipe with a Q tip, and then see how it is. My 
current L-122 had a wonky expression pedal and as it is the later 
version, cleaning fixed it. Away back when the first L s came out, we 
had a bad time with the pots and had to change a lot of them. Hammond 
recognized that the pots were bad and even sent out bristol wrenches to 
remove them. Try that and see how you make out. Could however be other 
problems, try tapping tubes, gently! and also check out all the plug 
connectors for corrosion and/or dirt! Have fun! old Doug in BC
