Hugh-- I'm guessing that no one here has the requisite experience with BCs 
in order to answer you. I combed through the General Service Manual and 
didn't find any helpful information about this thing. It would seem likely 
that the tremulant device would need oil. I have a friend's BC parked in my 
garage. If you can tell me where to look inside the beast I will attempt to 
get to it behind all the stacks of junk, and take a look for you.
