[HAM] L100 TUBESRay Winkel oilyfishhead at gmail.comSat Oct 14 19:59:58 CDT 2006
My Opinion, Tubes are not much of a problem with Hammonds. Hammond didn't bias their tubes very hot so they last a long time. My M111a still has all of the origional tubes in it. I have had a couple of problems though. The grid bias resistors on both of the preamp tubes (6AU6s) went bad at different times. I worked with another guy who had the same problem. The moral of the story is; don't just replace all the tubes 'cause it's old. Measure voltages and fix the problem. It will save you a lot of money. wink On 10/14/06, foxfamily <foxfamily at golden.net> wrote: > > Hello out there > I have used many times " thetubestore.com" , in Hamilton , Ontario, > Canada. > Great service, honest owner and USA customers get a better bang for the > buck. > Cheers, Bill Fox > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: hammond-bounces at zeni.net [mailto:hammond-bounces at zeni.net]On Behalf > Of > Stainless Brown > Sent: Saturday, October 14, 2006 7:47 PM > To: strangewarrior1 at earthlink.net; The Hammond Forum > Subject: Re: [HAM] L100 TUBES > > > There's a guy on e-bay (ak6r) goes under Capt' Bob's Electronics (or > something like that). he offers lots of tubes as well as tube sets for > Hammonds.
