Yes, I built the tone control on Bob's site. It's based on an old circuit 
from an RCA tube manual. Unfortunately, it does not nail the necessary 
frequencies exactly, especially on the bass end. I had a tone-control 
expert friend of mine analyze everything, and his conclusion was that it 
would be very difficult to design a control that would have the correct 
frequency spectrum, and his reasons were beyond me.

I would say that the control was somewhat useful; it certainly could 
increase treble output and the bass boost was about an octave higher than 
what I would have liked. I gave the thing to Joey DeFrancesco-- I think he 
liked it because it was cool and shiny.

I know nothing about any Tone Booter :-).
