[HAM] Fold back

Greetings...I've recently had the opportunity to sit at an A100 and
noticed the foldback on the lower manual. I didn't really care for it
and I've learned that the older model A Hammonds had a lower manual
where the notes would go all the way down which seems more appealing to
me. I'm told that the reason for the fold back is the tone generator has
only 96 tone wheels. There was a model A on ebay recently that was
upgraded to an AV by adding the vibrato scanner and Trek II percission
and leslie switching. Are these still desireable or should I stay away
from one. The cabinet is like the B3 but smaller and that is appealing
also. How did they get the lower manual notes to go all the way down...a
larger tone generator? I've heard some of the older hammonds actually
had two tone generators. How does the foldback on the newer A,B's and
C's work?

My M3 is stock and the upper keys are not as loud and the expression
pedal does not seem to make up the difference and that tells

me that foldback feature would be a nice addition. Thanks in advance for
any advise.
