Fr'instance... Typical blues bass line in A, A walking down to E. The A will sound as bassy and ballsy as the lower notes, which are all "folded back" to some point (except the G perhaps?). One thing, make sure your drawbars and preset switch key are making good contact and are clean. I had an issue with my A100 that the bass seemed weak. Pulling the drawbars in and out and repeatedly hitting the note (to clean the contacts) seemed to do something to the sound but didn't really solve the problem. I was ready to have my tech do a bus bar lube job but he very helpfully pointed out that the signal path also goes through the contacts in the preset key (D'oh! That was dumb of me not to realize that!). After doing the repeat hit to the preset key the bass was back! And with less obvious foldback - any issues with those lower four drawbars and the foldback does start to jump out at you. (Of course there are probably registration settings that make it more obvious as well, I can't imagine any bass line sounding too great with 800000000.) And I would definitely recommend the "Beauty in the B" bass out circuit for adding a little bass oomph if necessary. I find that a MesaBoogie 2x10 cab with a 300watt Peavey bass head does real nice! Andy PS remember all the best B3s are A100s! -----Original Message----- I think I'll try crafting the bass lines around the foldback points like Andy suggests...
