[HAM] cleaning dirt from TG

Where I live we have a lot of wind and sandy dirt. Dirt just seems to come through the walls. Also the cover came off a generator I have setting on top of organ which manana I will install when I get a round tuit.  Seems I keep getting the square tuits. Well anyway, the door and windows were open one day while I was away. With all that the generator is full of sandy dirt.  I have been thinking of maybe pouring alcohol in it to wash it out. Then oil it good. Any IDEAS?
