Did you try plugging in the fast motor with its new plug into an extension
cord attached to the house mains? If it still doesn't turn, the problem is
not the amp, but rather the fast motor (or your new plug) itself. If the
fast motor is doesn't turn, you can find out how to service it at
www.bentonelectronics.com under Service. If it turns out that the windings
are shot, there are lots of techs on the list who can sell you a replacement
motor.

The other diagnostic would be to plug a table lamp into the "lower" tremolo
receptical on the amp and see whether it lights when you switch to fast. If
it does, the amp likely isn't at fault.

If the motor works with the amp bypassed, try hooking the motor into the
"upper" tremolo receptical with the switch set to fast. If it still works,
clean the lower tremolo receptical with DeOxit, or bend the fast motor plug
pins to make better contact. That's all thats left in the amp that can
cause your symptoms.

Its possible that somebody desoldered the wire under the amp that connects
the horn and rotor fast recepticals together, but quite unlikely. The
recepticals occasionally break internally, which would be unfortunate since
they are a bear to replace.

Subject: [HAM] 122 fast rotor problem:

My lower rotor doesn't seem to want to work in the "fast" position. It does
fine in the "slow" or chorale. I looked in and found the wire going from
the fast motor to the receptacle was just dangling and not hooked up to
anything, so I put a plug on it and plugged it in but still nothing
happened. I took the amplifier out and didn't see anything disconnected but
I did clean the relay and swapped the 12AU7 tubes. Is there a way to check
voltage coming out of the fast (lower) receptacle and if so, how much? I
would appreciate any advice. You guys got me through the other Leslie and I
thank you for that. This is a 122, by the way.

  Thanks, Luther
