It is not! The alto player was an unknown kid at the time of recording. 
And, tut-tut, Lou's tone is much more mellow than this young firebrand's.

I dunno when. He awarded himself the title in a marketing attempt to 
distinguish himself from Lonnie Liston Smith. This, with the addition of 
the turban, largely worked. It's much like Jack McDuff said when he was 
asked how it was that he used to be called "Brother" and now "Captain." "I 
gave myself a promotion," he replied.

This has been a rare, serious answer. I must be slipping.
