[HAM] Single louver horn compartment damping material?

  I have always wondered if putting a highly reflective surface over and under the treble rotor, like a thin mirror would brighten up the horn area. Perhaps back in the day when horsehair was literally everywhere, people's hearing was better, less noise pollution.

 But, until I read this thread, I never noticed that my 21H also has that horsehair padding on all four sides of the upper chamber. (There is none on my 31H.) I think that’s primarily what’s making the difference.
