[HAM] TG output readings aside - RVG recordingsjoe d joedoria at hotmail.comThu Apr 5 21:38:37 CDT 2007
I think it's a bit of both personally (the C-3 and leslie (prob more important) combined with the recording brilliance of RVG. TG output readings aside... I was hoping some here might be able to comment/comfirm some things I read about RVG recordings (hammond specific). I heard he took a direct out (for the lows) and combined that with a single or stereo pair of mics (top and center - not the usual mic on each side for that wide spread sound). Can anyone confirm this? Hear differently? >By "magic" I was referring to the fact that many Jazz/ Blues lovers >love the Rudy Van Gelder recordings and they would consider these >Hammond recordings as being the quintessential reference examples of >the Hammond sound . > > _________________________________________________________________ Cant afford to quit your job?
