[HAM] CV - no sound

I got the CV that was offered for pickup in BC.
  Came with a PR-20 tone cabinet.
  Thank You , Read.
  I hooked the tone cabinet up to my L100 first to make sure that it 
worked.
  Then I checked the AC line on the CV checking for any obvious hazards 
before plugging it on.
The start motor works , the TG seems to be turning okay - but no sound. 
For
now I just have the 27-1 connector hooked up for connecting the tone 
cabinet.
  All of the tubes light up.
   I hooked a pair of headphones to the GG terminals and didn't hear 
anything.
  This CV has had a lot of mods over the years , so I'll probably have 
to call a tech in.
  But , I thought I'd run it past this esteemed assembly first.
  Any obvious things to check ?
