[HAM] Leslie 25 - Electrolytic goes PFFFT!!

This may sound silly, but make sure you put the diode in correctly. I
don't remember the rectifier circuit in that cabinet off the top of my
head, but for a new filter cap to blow typically you are looking at
either reversed polarity, or unrectified AC getting to the cap. Other
suspects include a bad transformer (shorted primary turns) that could
cause the output voltage to go higher than it should be. Just be careful
checking & testing this is a high voltage circuit and does "bite back!"
