[HAM] Fast Motor Thrust Washer Repair?

In the process of disassembling my 145's upper motor assembly for
cleaning and re-oiling, I found that the thrust washers on the lower
end of the Fast motor shaft have failed. It seems like the spacer
ground its way through the top one and ruined the felt washer, too.
Unlike some of the diagrams I've seen, which specify steel washers,
these all seem to have been made of nylatron or some other plastic.
This is a ~1970 145.

So, what's the best way to go about fixing this thing? Should I
replace the damaged washers with nylatron or go with something like
steel or brass for greater wear resistance?

Thanks,
David A.
