[HAM] CV - Starter motor not engaging TG - follow upBohachewsky, Andrew V. abohachewsky at draper.comFri Apr 20 09:50:22 CDT 2007
Hey Dave, Yes, WD40 is NOT for the TG. It's a cleaning rather than lubricating oil. I didn't think but I guess the CV has a solid wooden back - or is it just a back panel? Can it be removed? My A100 has an easily removed "pegboard" back, with it off the starter motor assembly's right there. You will need to get ready access to it (not with a shoe horn) to clean it (try this first) or to bend/adjust/tighten the cage carefully (recent posts suggest very slight movement can cause/solve the problem). Mainly I wanted to make sure it was a mechanical rather then a possible electrical problem. Is there some way to access that area easily for a more permanent solution or, do I need to remove the TG ?
