You need two stubby pieces of 2X4 or 1X4. IIRC, that wasn't mentioned in 
the WIKI instructions. Put one at each end of the manuals to prop them up. 
That gives you 3 1/2 inches in cross section, more in reality because of 
the angles. You can actually raise the manuals even higher then that 
without breaking stuff, but you can watch the wires to see if they are 
getting pulled too hard. There should be/is plenty of room to do all kinds 
of surgery from that position, including motor work, recalibration, and 
filter cap replacement. Or do you have really gigantically fat hands and 
wrists?
