Hi David,

The thing about the vibrato circuit and the CV preamp is that it's set up rather differently from the later C-2 and C-3 preamps. The CV preamp has two sections, in series, with the vibrato delay line and scanner in between. With vibrato Off, the first section of the preamp drives the second section; with vibrato On, the first section drives the vibrato line and scanner, and that signal is picked up by the second section. 

So, if you're getting no sound with vibrato ON, there's an open circuit/wiring fault somewhere between the first and second preamp sections.
