That's funny! A Blindfold test where the original poster doesn't know the answer! Thanks Brad. I *knew* it was Goldings. Not because of any inside info. Goldings is the one famous jazz organist who has the good taste to not want to speak to me, thanks to a distorted post/smear campaign engineered by our old friend "Tony" who used to haunt this list. But I digress. I spent time looking around Goldings' site after the brilliant, hilarious Hans Groiner video. The place is full of gems, especially the page about Johnny "Bowtie" Barstow. It's a Flash-driven site so I can't give you a direct link to that part of the site. Start at <http://www.larrygoldings.com>, drum your fingers while all the crap loads, then get yourself to the Projects page, pour a cuppa coffee while that loads, the click on the link to Bowtie. You will be completely astounded by this man's mastery of the idiom. The best thing we can do is bow down to him; better yet, duck and cover. So how did I know it was "Bowtie"/Goldings? I hear you asking. The title of the clip rolls by as it plays in Winamp. What does it say? That's right, "bowtie." I hafta say, this is some lip-smackin'-good organ playing! Squeaky-clean but soulful, bodacious left hand!
