Hi Richard.
I assume that the side to side movement of the tonewheels might be
responsible for the warbling or fast chorus like effect that is heard
on some individual TG notes in many organs. There are at least two or
four warbling treble TG notes here and there on my 1962 C3. This
warbling affects some organs more than others and I suspect that it
might be caused by slightly worn bearings.

Because the magnet heads of the treble TG pickups are much narrower
than the magnet heads of the bass and the midrange TG pickups , the
slight side to side movement of the tonewheels would be more audibly
noticeable with the treble TG notes. with the wider magnet heads of the
bass and the midrange TG pickups , the magnet heads are wider than the
small space of tonewheel side to side movement so therefore there
would be less audible warbling if a bass or a midrange tonewheel moves
slightly side to side.
All the best.
Kon
