I have a synthetic that we have been using in Hammonds up north for the past 30 years, reduces the cold start problems to a minimum. No problems. -----Original Message----- From: hammond-bounces at zeni.net [mailto:hammond-bounces at zeni.net]On Behalf Of Bruce Murphy Sent: Thursday, February 01, 2007 5:20 PM To: The Hammond Forum Subject: [HAM] Block Heater? It was -8 in Chicago Tuesday. My weekly gig venue stores the Hammond in an unheated garage. Lately it's not happy about starting even if I bring it in a couple of hours before the show. Tuesday it refused to start. I posted this before, but I can't imagine I'm the only one who has had to deal with tonewheels in frigid temps. Lots of folks must leave organs in trucks or vans overnight. Any suggestions? The hairdryer didn't work. Maybe Hammond needs "winter oil" like 0W30 ;-) Bruce -- Subscription Options/Unsubscribe/Archives: http://www.zeni.net/hf/ Hammond-Leslie FAQ: http://theatreorgans.com/hammond/faq/ HammondWiki: http://www.dairiki.org/HammondWiki/ hammond at zk3.dec.com archives: http://zk3.hammondforum.com/
