[HAM] Concord w/ a leslie 710 ?

David,

I bought a Concord and a Leslie 710 new back in the 70's. It was a
great combination when new but then I started having problems. The
connectors on the board edges evidently become intermittent very
easily with the least little bit of dirt. Soon I was having sections
of the keyboards drop out at random. The internal Leslie would drop
in and come back in at random. For a while in the 80;s I was able
to find someone to repair it but it was never right again. The 8'
voice on the pedals quit and was never heard from again. The only
thing that never failed was the Auto-Vari rythme accompaniment
section, not really very useful without a functioning organ.

The Leslie had frequent problems with the rotating contacts which
would become intermettent.

Finally it sat idle in my sitting room for years until finally I got
fed up and sold it for practically nothing. Someday I hope to get
back into the Hammond game with a vintage A-100 and appropriate
Leslie. I love the Hammonds but it has to be a tone wheel generator
with tube amplifiers.

The LSI (Large Scale Integration - ie transistor) organs the Hammond
brought out in the 70's were a bust and, unfortunately, I bought one.

    Tony...
