[HAM] New B-3 Questions (was why are tonewheels superior?)bvb2b3 bvb2b3 at insightbb.comSat Feb 3 15:08:49 CST 2007
It's been a couple years since I last played a New B-3 and I've forgotten some of it's details. Could someone elaborate on what "dial-in" tone adjustment is available on the New B-3? As I recall reading about the New B-3 when introduced, it was said to be able to sound like almost any tonewheel, from the Model A to a late B-3. What capability did that mean besides adjusting the foldback (or having no foldback) and having 2 or 3 overall tone selections with names resembling something like "brite", "b-3 type", etc. to choose from? Has anyone tried adjusting a New B-3 to sound like a BC or other tonewheel besides a B-3, and been able to really duplicate it? Thanks. Does that make sense though >(real organ variances vs. the new b-3)? Not really, since you can dial-in just about any tone you want an a New B-3. <snip>
