On an old family desk (1920s cherry veneered) I wanted to clean, I went over the entire exterior with a mild dish-soap solution and extra-fine steel wool, using light strokes so not to scratch the veneer. This removed years of dirt and grease quickly and easily. I then followed with two coats of Johnson's Paste Furniture Wax. Worked great. I did the same with my A102 when I bought it about 5 years ago. Looks brand new today. Periodic dusting with a dry cotton cloth, and once a year or so I apply a new coat of Johnson's Paste Wax. I follow the "Antiques Roadshow" approach and use paste wax only on my furniture, never silicone or "lemon oil" type polishes - big "no-no's" according to the dealers.
