The CV has a separate switch on the upper right that toggles between chorus
and vibrato. The rotary switch is then 1-off-2-off-3-off, but you get the
same result as with a C3. Vibrato and chorus are either off or on for both
manuals at the same time. Percussion is about a $250 add-on, which I think
sounds better than the C3's, but the switches will be on the left cheekblock
instead of the upper right. Smooth drawbars can be added with some effort.
Unless your style is moving drawbars constantly, ratchet drawbars work well
once you get used to them. I am one who really likes the warm, smooth sound
of my BVs, expecially through a field coil Leslie. You should be able to by
a CV with tone cabinet in working condition for $500 or so, leaving enough
dough to get a good start on the Leslie that really completes the Hammond
sound.
