[HAM] leslie amp quizmike p mp3 at stny.rr.comMon Jan 1 11:13:54 CST 2007
Scott, the fact that nobody has guessed this yet worries me . Maybe I'll be the one on the hot seat for the new year... Thats OK learning experiences are good. OK , The answer is ---------- There are 5 stickers on the amp and only 2 should be there . The "reverb amp only" sticker over the reverb amp plug is correctly there The white sticker by the 6 prong male that says "CSA" is correctly there There must have been 2 amps, an early 147 with the silver painted chassis and this 70's gold color chassis 147 . Looks like the red leslie 147 sticker under the knobs , the red tube conf. chart, and the white fast /slow sticker by the tremulant outlets have been peeled off an earlier amp and stuck on this amp... I've never seen a gold color amp with these stickers, instead they have black lettering directly on the amp . Just like anything else, there could have been a transitional period in which the old supply was used up until gone. But stickers ? Once again - any goldish 122 or 147 I've seen personally or seen on ebay or elsewhere for sale in the past 8 years has never had the sticker under the control knob(s) or any side diagram , or anything except for the first 2 stickers listed. Also look at the amp mount , its silver. People are always taking the amps out the wrong way without the mounts . Any silver amp I've ever seen has a silver mounting bracket, same with the gold, they have a gold mounting bracket. Also we determined one of the transformers was changed indicating a 2nd earlier amp. Judging from all the other operations this particular amp has been through , I would definately bet this was one of them . Happy new year everyone ...
