[HAM] Should I also get a Leslie 25 for my new M3?

I didn't see anyone else respond, so I'll take a crack. You don't say where
you live, so I can't be too specific as to the appropriate price for an M3
in your area. Somewhere between $0 and $250 is the typical range. My last
four have been $500 (with a cherry Leslie 145), $25, free and free. Bring
cash and a truck, start low and be willing to walk away, and see what you
can dicker. They all need some service by this age, which the list can help
you with, but if you need to use a tech, the service can equal the cash
price of the organ.

The Leslie 25 is a single speaker full range unit. Good tube sound, better
than nothing, but not very satisfying if you really crave the authentic
Leslie vibe. Personally, I wouldn't value it above $100, unless I was
looking for needed parts for a better project. Sellers seem to think they
are real valuable-- sometimes a guitar player can get an acceptable sound
with a pre-amp added. If you get a Leslie MEE switch and a chorus tremolo
switch with connection box plus cable in the deal, those have a market value
of $100+ on eBay.
