[HAM] Should I also get a Leslie 25 for my new M3?Bruce Gordon ecurbnodrog at yahoo.comWed Jan 17 23:22:32 CST 2007
To the fellow who has a chance to buy the Leslie 25... it won't give you the sound that you associate with a Hammond *and* a Leslie. But....it's a Leslie speaker that spins/twirls/ excites the air molecules your ears pickup and eventually reaches your brain. The unique sound ought to be stimulating! Fun! Different! Don't know what a model 25 costs on the used market. I'm still searching for a 145/147 but in case you didn't know, these are the much sought after tube amplified speakers. And they are worth the $$$ for good reason I would add! If the Model 25 is less than a hunnerd, and you can afford it...do it! It may whet your appetite for LAS (Leslie Aquisition Syndrome!) BTW....My Leslies are solid state, with upper lower rotors, and I *really* like 'em. I know what I'm missing by not having tubes, but this is mighty close. If you wanna shop more, consider solid state models as well.
