Big caveat, Paul!

Although I don't know the 55C amplifier in detail - I just took a look
at the schematics of an 51C - I can say that it may be possible that
you blow your filter caps and even endanger your power transformer.

You are saying "diode bridge". This requires a power transformer with
a secondary winding that is different from the one for the (two way)
tube rectifier circuit. The latter (tube rectifier) uses a tapped winding.

Connecting a bridge rectifier to it would double the voltage (near 1000V!)
A nono.

You may use two diodes across the socket of the rectifier tubes, but to tell
you exactly the pins I'd need a circuit diagram.
