[HAM] L-100 - running the whole signal through an Octavider ?

  I have the link to the site where Fred Somerville explains how he used
an Octavider to get
the added bass on his L100 .
  According to the manual , one can play a phonograph , radio or other
device through the
organ by unplugging the WH plug from the jack on the power amp and
using a Y connector
  to plug in the outside source along with the organ .
  The question is : what would happen if I unplugged the WH plug ,
connected an Octavider
  and ran the whole signal through it before sending it to the amp.
  Could I damage anything by trying this ?
  Theoretically , the whole thing would drop and octave , causing a gain
in bass , but losing high end.
  But , it seems that I could tweak the drawbar settings to gain some
treble and midrange.
  I'd like to work on my Left hand bass lines and this might be an
option until I can afford
  a console organ.
