[HAM] M3 with bad starter motor?

My M3 just started doing the following:    

 

The starter motor works fine and spins the TWG up to speed,  but there
is a loud 'bearing' squealing sound... and the run motor doesn't seem to
ever assist.   Once you release the starter motor it just coast down...?

 

Tried (over) oiling everything but can't silence the noise or get the
run motor to help out.  TWG is plenty freed up and the organ has been
starting and playing fine up to this point.

 

How does one check the run motor?
