[HAM] Help Please? leslie 45 with 147 amp - always spinning fast (asking for a friend)joe d joedoria at hotmail.comMon Jan 29 19:07:40 CST 2007
Hello, asking for a friends leslie 147 problem: Tough one via text I understand but can any of you help me diagnose/take steps to diagnose all the possible problems with a leslie 45 that has a 147 amp in it....that is always spinning FAST and not kicking into slow ever? I am unfamiliar with the 147 amps. He bought an a-100 with a standard leslie 122 leslie kit and needs this leslie to work with it essentially. What are some/all the possibilites that might cause this issue with a 147 amp? I've only been able to test it against my A-101 - which is working fine with my 122 leslies (kicks into slow and fast fine with my 122's). Tell me if I'm wrong here, but isn't it more likely that this 45/147 amp requires either some modding of the lesie 122 type switch to make this work, or a different type leslie switch in order for it to function correctly? Possibly an easy fix via wiring somehow? Or... Is there more likely a problem somewhere in the amp (relay?, caps/resistors to check, etc.)? The 147 has 2 6550's, 1 12au7 and an OC3 (all test fine). ANOTHER PROBLEM (possible): It has a selectable OHM switch that is hard locked to the OPEN position (seriously - I can't budge it to set to 8ohm or 16ohm at all). I don't want to wrench on it of course, but are there cases where this might be hardlocked in the OPEN position? Reason? Should it be in the OPEN position ever, or is that the correct setting for his application (connect to his A-100 with leslie 122 switching)? thanks for any help with this amp/leslie switching. I'm just not familiar with the 147 amps/settings. _________________________________________________________________ Laugh, share and connect with Windows Live Messenger http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwme0020000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://imagine-msn.com/messenger/launch80/default.aspx?locale=en-us&source=hmtagline
