[HAM] ADDED INFO: Help Please? leslie 45 with 147 amp -joe d joedoria at hotmail.comTue Jan 30 18:42:45 CST 2007
Thank you all for your help...but I'm afraid new info has changed some things here. Apparently the organ this leslie will soone go to (a100) is found out to be wired for a leslie 47 and will also accept a PR-40. Soooo...this 147 might just be fine with it, correct? In which case, is there a product out there (leslie add-on or complete kit) that will allow for both 147 and/or 122 type amp connection? I think i remember seeing something (hamptone? trek? that had 2 connectors - 1 for each if need be) but not finding in my searches. thank you (this isn't my rig btw - I'm asking for another friend who's putting together a rig for touring/etc). >From: "joe d" <joedoria at hotmail.com> >Reply-To: The Hammond Forum <hammond at zeni.net> >To: hammond at zeni.net >Subject: [HAM] ADDED INFO: Help Please? leslie 45 with 147 amp - >Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 18:54:59 -0800 > >added info: >I will not connect this 147 amp to my Ham with 122 type kits (risk of >blowing things). > >I would want to rebuild this 147 type amp into a 122 type amp, rather than >install a kit to accept 147 leslies in the organ. >What is involve with turning a 147 amp into a 122 type? > >thank you for any advice > > >From: "joe d" <joedoria at hotmail.com> > >Reply-To: The Hammond Forum <hammond at zeni.net> > >To: hammond at zeni.net > >Subject: [HAM] Help Please? leslie 45 with 147 amp - always spinning > >fast(asking for a friend) > >Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 17:07:40 -0800 > > > >Hello, asking for a friends leslie 147 problem: > > > >Tough one via text I understand but can any of you help me diagnose/take > >steps to diagnose all the possible problems with a leslie 45 that has a >147 > >amp in it....that is always spinning FAST and not kicking into slow ever? > >I am unfamiliar with the 147 amps. > > > >He bought an a-100 with a standard leslie 122 leslie kit and needs this > >leslie to work with it essentially. > > > >What are some/all the possibilites that might cause this issue with a 147 > >amp? > > > >I've only been able to test it against my A-101 - which is working fine > >with > >my 122 leslies (kicks into slow and fast fine with my 122's). > > > >Tell me if I'm wrong here, but isn't it more likely that this 45/147 amp > >requires either some modding of the lesie 122 type switch to make this > >work, > >or a different type leslie switch in order for it to function correctly? > >Possibly an easy fix via wiring somehow? > > > >Or... > >Is there more likely a problem somewhere in the amp (relay?, >caps/resistors > >to check, etc.)? > >The 147 has 2 6550's, 1 12au7 and an OC3 (all test fine). > > > >ANOTHER PROBLEM (possible): > >It has a selectable OHM switch that is hard locked to the OPEN position > >(seriously - I can't budge it to set to 8ohm or 16ohm at all).
